Institute researchers awarded the Zlatko Kvaček Prize
Researchers of the Institute of Geology Lucie Vaňková and Monika Uhlířová became laureates of the Zlatko Kvaček Prize of the Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Faculty of Science, Charles University, in December. This annual award recognises the best scientific publications in the fields of palaeobiology, palaeoclimatology, palaeoceanology and geobiology. Lucie Vaňková received the prize in the academic staff category and Monika Uhlířová in the PhD student category. The awarded studies provide new insights into environmental change across the Jurassic–Cretaceous transition and into early Silurian land plants. We wish to congratulate both laureates. Awarded publications: Vaňková, L. et al.: Macrofauna and stable isotope record of the Jurassic‒Cretaceous transition at the Dedina section (Golubac, eastern Serbia); Uhlířová, M. et al.: An early land plant with coiled fertile tips from the upper Silurian (Přídolí) of the Barrandian area (Czech Republic).
